Creating an Event
Welcome to Power Manager. In this article I will walk you through the steps needed to create your own energy saving schedule.
An empty schedule
We are going to start with an empty schedule. This will make it easier to highlight our new event.
Start up or wake every morning
Our first event will schedule your Mac to either wake from sleep, or start up if it's turned off, every weekday morning.
Add a new event by clicking the Add… button. This will bring down a panel of options for your new event.
The first field is for the event's name. The name does not affect the purpose or timing of the event. For this event, type “Wake up each morning”.
We want the event's Action to be Start up or wake. We want the event's When to be Daily. Use the first two menus to set these values.
- Action: Start up or wake
- When: Daily
With the event's When set to Daily, the only task left is to set the time and days we want this event to occur.
Entering dates and times in Power Manager is easy. Type the time in the format you are most comfortable with. Power Manager will convert this into a formal time as you type.
Type 9am into the time field. Note how the grey text underneath changes.
Finally, click Add.
Congratulations, your first event
Congratulations! You have created and scheduled your first event.
